Upgrade GLX Dataloggers previously purchased by Tech Fund to increase the number of labs in which probes can be used, with greater functionality.

 

Formative Assessment Using a Classroom Response System

MMRHS, Grades 9-12, Lisa Baldwin and Nancy King, 160 students

Purchase two Turning Point IR systems to enable all students in a classroom to respond instantly to questions posed by teachers.  Data enables teachers to monitor individual student understanding and gauge the understanding of the group.

 

Using Technology to Support a Multi-Faceted Teaching Approach

MMRHS, Grades 9-12, Kristina Farina and Ed Barrett, 600 students

Purchase Promethean Smart Board and Active Tablet.

 

Using Technology to Make Our Whiteboards Interactive

Monument Valley, Grades 5-8, Allison Fisher, 80 students

Mimio unit allows teachers to take white board presentations and convert them into PowerPoint slides, Word documents, or Excel spreadsheets.  It will also record all white board notes, which can be shared with absent students, parents, and other teachers.

 

Fun and Fitness at the Middle School

Monument Valley, Grades 5-8, Stephanie Ross, Chip Vittum, Pat Boland, 360 students

Improve fitness level of students, as measured by Fitness Grams, through the implementation of the Wii Fit system.

 

FASTT Math

Muddy Brook, Grade 2, Barbara Minkler, 80 students

Increase math fact fluency rate of all second-graders through specialized software installed on computers used in classroom.
