HOME: History On the MovE
HOME is an active based model of learning for high school history courses.  It is intended to get students actively involved in their lessons, whether they be daily activities or long-term assignments.  Through various technological resources, the students will be "moving" through history and time to become an active participant in their studies.

A few examples of projects that we have done already are:

  • Compiling true stories and pictures of immigrants using information from the Library of Congress website to write letters as an immigrant
  • Taking a virtual tour of Ellis Island
  • Using the PBS website for their Great War series to research for a class bulletin board topic
  • Finding World War One poetry on the web and analyzing them as a way of explaining the term "lost generation"
  • Typing up your letter of intent to President Wilson regarding the Treaty of Versailles:  will you support him or not?
  • Doing a multi-media group presentation on popular culture of the 1920's: using slides, creating an overhead sheet, and a medium of your choice

And the work goes on......
